Haryana Assembly Elections 2019: Sonia Gandhi's Rally in Mahendergarh Cancelled, Rahul Gandhi to Now Address Voters

The rally, in Mahendergarh, has been cancelled just hours before it was about to take place. The rally will be addressed by Rahul Gandhi instead. Sonia Gandhi won't be addressing the rally after she fell ill on Thursday night. This was to be her first public meeting after she took charge of the party in August.

Haryana, October 18: Ahead of Haryana Assembly Elections on October 21,  Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s only rally in the state has been cancelled. The rally, in Mahendergarh, has been cancelled just hours before it was about to take place. The rally will be addressed by Rahul Gandhi instead. According to a Hindustan Times report, Sonia Gandhi won't be addressing the rally after she fell ill on Thursday night. This was to be her first public meeting after she took charge of the party in August. The appearance of Sonia Gandhi at public functions have become very rare over the last few years.

She was last seen addressing a public rally in Rae Bareli in the month of June to thank her voters for re-electing her in the Lok Sabha elections.  The Congress President had last campaigned for an assembly election was in Telangana on November 23 last year.
