Haryana Assembly Bypoll Result 2019: Krishan Lal Middha of BJP Wins Jind Bye-Election With Over 12,000 Votes

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Krishan Lal Middha has won Rajasthan’s Ramgarh assembly bypoll with a huge margin. Krishan Lal received 49,222 votes, while his nearest rival Jannayak Janta Party’s (JJP) Digvijay Chautala received votes over 37,000 votes.

Jind, January 31: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Krishan Lal Middha has won Haryana's Jind assembly bypoll with a huge margin. Krishan Lal received 49,222 votes, while his nearest rival Jannayak Janta Party’s (JJP) Digvijay Chautala received votes over 37,000 votes. Meanwhile, Congress’ Randeep Surjewala came third in bypoll result. The voting for Jind constituency was held on January 28. The constituency witnessed a multi-cornered contest. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar Confident of Winning Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections.

After winning the bypoll, Krishan Lal thanked everyone for their support. He said, “I would like to thank everyone who supported the party&me. It's their victory. There were big leaders in the contest as well, but we have defeated them too. We will follow the schemes launched by PM and take them forward.”

The bypoll was necessitated following the death of Krishan Lal’s father and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) legislator Hari Chand Middha last August last year. There were 21 candidates, including two women in the fray. There are nearly 1.70-lakh people voters, including 80,556 women in the constituency. A total of 71 polling booths were set up in rural areas of the constituency and 103 polling booths were set up in urban areas. Nearly 3,000 police personnel were deployed in the region to avoid any untoward incident. VVPAT machines were used for polling to ensure transparency.

The assembly elections in Haryana will take place this year in October. In the last elections, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the majority in 90-member assembly, and Manohar Lal Khattar was sworn-in as the chief minister. With this win, the BJP has now 48 seats in the assembly.
