New Delhi, May 9: Former chief minister of Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat, committed a blunder on the occasion of the 153rd birth anniversary of social reformer and freedom fighter Gopal Krishna Gokhale. Rawat, a five time MP, used the image of Lokmanya Tilak instead of Gopal Krishna Gokhale in his tribute to Gokhale on Thursday, May 9. Gopal Krishna Gokhale 153rd Birth Anniversary: 10 Facts About Social Reformer and Mahatma Gandhi's Political Guru.

Leaders across party lines paid rich tributes to Gopal Krishna Gokhale on his 153rd birth anniversary. Rawat also tweeted on the occasion and said in his tweet that "Tribute to Great freedom fighter, educationist, social reformer and political guru of Mahatma Gandhi, Gopal Krishna Gokhale."

As can be seen in the tweet above, the image in the tweet is that of Lokmanya Tilak and not of Gopal Krishna Gokhale. That the error comes from a Congressman is even more glaring.

Twitter soon noticed the error and pointed out to Rawat that the man in picture is not Gopal Krishna Gokhale but Lokmanya Tilak.
