New Delhi, May 3: Singer Hans Raj Hans, who is contesting from North West Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, struck back at Arvind Kejriwal after being accused of converting to Islam. The AAP chief had alleged that Hans' candidature from a reserved seat would be disqualified as he ceases to be from the Scheduled Caste (SC) community after leaving Hinduism.

Hans, while speaking to reporters on Friday, said the charge of converting to Islam is baseless and based on fake news. Calling Kejriwal a serial liar, Hans said the Delhi Chief Minister's political career is based on spreading fake propaganda and "peddling one lie after another". BJP Fields Sufi Singer Hans Raj Hans from North West Delhi

Hans said he would filing a police complaint against Kejriwal under the stringent provisions of SC

Here's What Hans Raj Hans Said:

The North West Delhi constituency is a reserved parliamentary segment, where candidates only from the SC community are eligible to contest.

Kejriwal had cited a news report on Twitter to allege that Hans had changed his religion recently, which makes him ineligible to contest from North West Delhi.

"Since North West Delhi is a reserved seat, it makes him ineligible to contest from there. He deliberately concealed this information from the EC. This is a complete violation of EC rules," he had said.
