The Election Commission has declared the Lok Sabha elections 2019 results of Gopalganj, along with other parliamentary constituencies across the nation. Alok Kumar Singh of the BJP has won the seat. Notification for the sixth phase polls, which includes Gopalganj among 59 constituencies, was issued by the ECI on April 16. Candidates were allowed to file their nominations till April 23. From Gopalganj, the Mahagathbandhan has issued the ticket to RJD candidate Surendra Ram alias Mahant, whereas, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has fielded JD(U) leader Alok Kumar Suman.

In the 2014 general elections, the Gopalganj seat was wrested by BJP leader Janak Ram, a political debutant, by a margin of nearly 2.8 lakh votes against Congress' Jyoti Bharti.

Results of the electoral battle in Gopalganj, along with all other parliamentary constituencies in the nation, will be declared by the ECI on May 23, 2019. Bihar remains a keenly observed state by pollsters as it sends a total of 40 MPs to the Lok Sabha.
