Goa, February 2: The stage is set for the Assembly Elections 2022 in Goa. The voting for Goa Assembly Election 2022 will be held on 40 constituencies in a single phase on February 14. The counting of the votes is scheduled for March 10, and by the evening, the Goa Assembly Election 2022 results will be declared.

Politics in Goa seems to be in unprecedented flux. Every day, leaders and MLAs from the state are changing political allegiances. In the Goa Assembly Elections 2017, Congress emerged as the single largest party, winning 17 of the 40 seats, while the BJP won 13. Here Are Five Key Constituencies in Goa:

Canacona: Canacona is a Legislative Assembly constituency in South Goa. Congress' Isidore Fernandes had dethroned three times winner BJP from Canacona constituency in Goa Assembly Elections 2017. This year, AAP has fielded Anup Kudtarkar, AITC has Mahadev Desai, BJP has Ramesh Tawadkar while INC has Janardan Bhandari contesting in Goa Assembly Elections 2022.

Vasco Da Gama: The most populated constituency of Goa has over 35,938 total electors. AAP has fielded Sunil Loran Vasco Da Gama, while AITC has Saifulla Khan, BJP has Krishna Salkar, INC has Carlos Almeida and SHS has Maruti Shirgaokar contesting in Goa Assembly Elections 2022.

Sanquelim: Goa's current chief minister and BJP MLA Pramod Sawant will be contesting from the Sanquelim constituency. While INC has fielded Dharmesh Saglani, GSM's Suresh Amonkar, NCP's Pratap Prabhakar Gauns, and AAP's Milind Gauns are contesting from Sanquelim constituency in Goa Assembly Elections 2022.

Bicholim: Bicholim has over 25,958 total electors. Rajesh Patnekar of BJP, Meghashyam Raut of INC, Naresh Sawal of MGP and Anish Naik of RGP are contesting from Bicholim constituency in Goa Assembly Elections 2022.

Panaji: Panaji has 22,203 total electors. Utpal Parrikar, son of former CM Manohar Parrikar, is contesting from the Panaji constituency as an Independent contestant. AAP has fielded Valmiki Naik, INC has fielded Elvis Gomes while Atanasio Monserrate of BJP is contesting from Panaji constituency in Goa Assembly Elections 2022.
