Giriraj Singh Does a Jayant Sinha, Meets Riots Accused Bajrang Dal, VHP activists in Bihar's Nawada Jail
Giriraj Singh also claimed that Hindus were being suppressed in the name of communal harmony and requested the Bihar state government and society to abandon such attitude.
Nawada, July 8: Union Minister Giriraj Singh, who is often in controversies due to his comments on various issues, is once again in news for the wrong reasons. Union Minister Singh, on Saturday, is reported to have met Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad activists in Nawada jail of Bihar. The activists whom Giriraj Singh met are in jail on the accusations of rioting and other serious charges.
This news comes a day after another Union Minister in the NDA government and BJP leader Jayant Sinha faced flak for garlanding the convicts in Jharkhand's Ramgarh lynching case, who are currently out on bail.
The Union Minister also expressed his grief over the arrest of the activists saying that they were framed.
He was quoted saying that "It is unfortunate the way Jitu Ji and Kailash Ji have been framed. When tension arose during Ram Navami in 2017, they resumed peace in the area. They did the same when an idol of goddess Durga was vandalised in Akbarpur (sic)".
Giriraj Singh also claimed that Hindus were being suppressed in the name of communal harmony. He said that "It is very saddening to see that the government feels that communal harmony will be there only if they suppress Hindus. I request the State government and the society to let go of this kind of attitude," said Singh. (With Agency Inputs)
