Election Commission of India has declared the final results of Giridih Lok Sabha constituency today. Chandra Prakash Choudhary of AJSU Party has been announced the winner. The seat went to polls on May 12, in the sixth phase of the general elections 2019. After Ranchi, Dhanbad and Giridih are two of the most populous districts of Jharkhand.  According to EC data, a total of 1,346,527 voters can cast their vote in the Giridih Lok Sabha Constituency. The current MP of this constituency is Ravindra Kumar Pandey of the BJP.  The JMM has issued ticket to Jagarnath Mahto, whereas, the BJP has this time fielded Chandra Prakash Choudhary from the constituency.

Polling in all the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Jharkhand  will be held in four phases. The seats of Giridih, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and Singhbhum would go to polls in the sixth phase which is scheduled to take place on May 12. The voting in the state will be held in the 4th phase, 5th phase, 6th phase and 7th phases of the Lok Sabha elections. Three seats will be contested on April 29; four constituencies on May 6; four Lok Sabha segments on May 12; and three seats on May 19. The results will be declared on May 23.

In the Lok Sabha Elections 2014, Ravindra Kumar Pandey of the BJP had won the Giridih seat by defeating Jagarnath Mahto of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Pandey had won the seat by 391,913 votes while Mahto managed to get 351,600 votes.
