Delhi, May 8: Former Indian cricketer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from East Delhi for 2019 Lok Sabha Elections on Wednesday promised that Indian Premier League (IPL) matches will be in Anand Vihar's Yamuna Sports Complex (YSC) in the near future. Releasing the vision document for his constituency, the former Kolkata Knight Riders captain said that YSC has the potential to host the T20 league in the future. Along with this, Gambhir said that the people can easily connect with him through a mobile app called Gautam, which will be released soon. He also said that cleaning the Yamuna river will be his priority while sorting out other issues that are plaguing East Delhi. Gautam Gambhir Releases vision document for East Delhi:
Earlier today, in an interview with ABP News, Gambhir said, "People used to say it's easy to tweet on political developments while sitting in AC rooms. I had two options, either to stop tweeting or join politics to serve people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision for our country and I trust him. I didn't want to enter politics through the Rajya Sabha but to represent people as an elected member of the Lok Sabha."
In East Delhi, the major contest of Gautam Gambhir is with Aam Aadmi Party candidate Atishi, the brain behind the revamped Delhi school, and Indian National Congress's Arvinder Singh Lovely. The parliamentary constituency comprises of the area including trans-Yamuna. The area is highly populated and some major areas are Shahdara, Seelampur, Preet Vihar and Gandhi Nagar.
In 2014 general elections, BJP MP Maheish Girri won the seat by defeating AAP candidate Rajmohan Gandhi by securing 5,72,202 votes. However, AAP swept the assembly elections and apparently worked in the education and health sectors.
