Amaravati, April 8: Elections to Gangadhara, Gannavaram, Gannavaram (SC), Giddalur and Gopalapuram constituency of Andhra Pradesh Assembly will be held on April 11. The results of Andhra Pradesh Vidhan Sabha polls will be declared on May 23. There will be a close contest between the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in Gangadhara, Gannavaram, Gannavaram (SC), Giddalur and Gopalapuram seats. While the TDP won Gannavaram, Gannavaram (SC) and Gopalapuram seats, the YSRCP bagged Gangadhara and Giddalur in the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Vidhan Sabha polls. The process of filing nomination for the five seats began from March 18 and the last day was March 25. Scrutiny was done on March 26 and the last date for the withdrawal of the nominations was March 28.
