Gadchiroli Vidhan Sabha Constituency Election Result 2019 in Maharashtra: Dr Deorao Madguji Holi of BJP Wins MLA Seat in Assembly Polls

Mumbai, September 27: Polling for assembly elections in Gadchiroli, a town in the district by the same name of Maharashtra, was held on October 21. In Gadchiroli Vidhan Sabha seat, which is a part of Gadchiroli-Chimur parliamentary constituency, the electoral contest was between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. The sitting MLA from the constituency is BJP's Dr Deorao Madguji Holi who has been re-elected. The Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule of Maharashtra assembly elections on September 21. As per the schedule, the last date for filing nominations is October 4. The scrutiny will be done on October 5. Candidates can withdraw their nominations by October 7. Polling will be held on October 21, while the counting of votes will take place on October 24. The BJP, in 2014 Maharashtra assembly elections, won 122 seats and formed the government. The Shiv Sena came second with 63 seats, whereas the Congress bagged 42. The NCP managed to win 41 seats. Bahujan Vikas Aghadi and the PWP won three seats each. AIMIM candidates were elected from two constituencies.

Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Rashtriya Samaj Paksha and Samajwadi Party won one seat each. Seven Independents also became legislators.
