To retain the Gadchiroli-Chimur seat, the BJP renominated Ashok Mahadeorao Nete. He will be in a direct fight with Nandev Dalluji Usendi of the Congress.
Mumbai, March 23: Ashok Mahadeorao Nete of the BJP was elected as Member of Parliament from Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha seat went to polls on April 11 in the first phase of general polls. To retain the Gadchiroli-Chimur seat, the BJP renominated Ashok Mahadeorao Nete.
He was in a direct fight with Nandev Dalluji Usendi of the Congress. Nete defeated Usendi in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The process of filing nomination for Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha election began from March 18. The last day for nominations was March 25. Scrutiny was done on March 26 and the last date for the withdrawal of the nominations was March 28.
