In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Akshay Yadav of the Samajwadi Party (SP) won this Lok Sabha seat. Chandra Sen Jadaun was the BJP candidate from the seat this time. The Samajwadi Party had fielded Akshay Yadav, the sitting MP from this Lok Sabha Constituency.
