Farooq Abdullah Security Breach: Man Trying to Enter NC Chief's Residence in J&K Gunned Down, Father Asks 'Why Was My Son Killed'
A man has been gunned down by security personnel when he was trying to enter former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah's residence in Jammu.
Srinagar, August 4: A security breach has been reported at National Conference (NC) party president Farooq Abdullah's house in Jammu and Kashmir. The security breach at the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir's house, took place on Saturday morning. According to the latest update, a man was gunned down by the security personnel, when he was trying to forcefully enter the Jammu residence of Farooq Abdullah, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister.
The intruder, was reportedly in a SUV and has been identified as one Murfas Shah. Murfas Shah's father has questioned his son's killing and asked that why wasn't his son arrested instead of getting shot by the security guards. But the CRPF has issued a statement saying that the man did not pay heed to their warning and hence had to be shot at, in order to be stopped. "He didn’t listen to warnings of CRPF. Section of 38 BN CRPF manning the gate opened fire on the vehicle. Man's body recovered & search of vehicle going on. 1 CRPF personnel received minor injuries (sic)," said the CRPF in its official statement, as reported by news agency ANI.

Jammu range SSP, Vivek Gupta, said that the intruder breached the main gate and went inside. He had a scuffle with the duty officers there. Duty officer was also injured. After that he entered the residence, and there has been some sort of damage to the articles over there. Subsequently, the man was shot dead.
SD Singh Jamwal, IG, Jammu Zone, was quoted by news agency ANI, saying that "There was an attempt of forceful entry into the house(Farooq Abdullah's) by an individual named Murfas Shah, resident of Poonch. He forced his way through the VIP gate in an SUV. He was unarmed. Investigation is underway."
In a similar incident today, a man wielding a knife managed to enter the Kerala House in New Delhi where Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also present inside the house during the time of the incident. However, security guards stopped the intruder before he could do any damage.
This is not the first attack on a political leader in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier this year, on July 16, a policeman was killed and another policeman sustained injuries after terrorists attacked a police post outside the residence of a National Conference leader Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.
On April 26, terrorists had opened fire at senior politician Ghulam Nabi Patel, killing him in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. According to reports, Patel and his two aides were travelling in their car when terrorists intercepted his SUV near Rajpora Chowk of Pulwama and had opened firing, resulting in the death of the leader.
