Srinagar, April 7: Hours after objecting to the Centre's imposed restrictions on the movement of civilians on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for two days a week - Sundays and Wednesdays, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah made another controversial comment on RSS by calling them 'Murderers of Mahatma Gandhi'.
Addressing a political rally in Srinagar, ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the National Conference chief accused Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh of 'Murdering' Mahatma Gandhi. He also accused the ruling dispensation in Delhi responsible for the murder of 'father of the nation'.
Expressing his opinion, Abdullah said, "Maarne wale kaun the usko (Mahatma Gandhi)? Maarne wale yahi RSS wale jo aaj dhandhana rahe hain saare vatan mein...Aaj Delhi mein hukumat jo kar rahe hain vo vahi hain jo Mahatma Gandhi ke kaatil hain. (Who were the murderers of Mahatma Gandhi? Those were from the RSS who are roaming in the country freely. Today those who rule in Delhi, are responsible for Mahatma Gandhi's death)." Earlier in the day, slamming the Centre for imposing traffic restrictions on the movement of civilians on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for two days a week, Abdullah had comapre the decision with dictatorship. He had said, "Traders’ Federation president met me saying that ‘our lifeline is this road & closing it will cause losses to us.' This looks like some dictatorship law."
