Bhopal. November 7: The bypolls in 28 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh were held on November 3 along with the second phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2020. India Today in tie-up with Axis My India released exit poll results for MP bypolls 2020 on Saturday. India Today - Axis My India, predicted 16-18 Seats for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while the Congress, which hopes to get back in power, is likely to get only 10-12 seats.
The bye-elections in 25 of the 28 seats in the 230-member Assembly on November 3 were necessitated due to the resignations of Congress MLAs to support Jyotiraditya Scindia in March 2020 and join the BJP. Notably, Congress turncoats were in the fray as BJP candidates in 25 seats. In the remaining three segments, bypolls were necessitated due to the demise of sitting legislators. Seats where bye-elections took place are: Joura, Sanchi, Biaora, Agar, Hatpipliya, Mandhata, Nepanagar, Badnawar, Sanwer, Mehgaon, Gohad, Gwalior, Gwalior East, Sumaoli, Morena, Dimani, Ambah, Dabra, Bhander, Karera, Pohari, Bamori, Ashok Nagar, Mungaoli, Surkhi, Malhara, Anuppur and Suwasra. The Congress needs to win all 28 seats in Madhya Pradesh to again get a majority in the Assembly. On the other hand, the ruling BJP needs only nine seats to reach the magic figure of 116.The BJP currently has 107 MLAs, while the Congress has 87 legislators in the House. The counting of votes will take place on November 10.
