Chennai, May 19: The exit poll results of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 for Tamil Nadu have been announced. Most exit polls are predicting a DMK victory in the southern state. The Congress alliance is expected to win an average of over 25 seats to DMK. According to News18-IPSOS exit poll, DMK is expected to win 22-24 out of the 39 Lok Sabha seats, while AIADMK alliance may win 14-16 seats. According to the figures, AIADMK, which won 37 seats last elections, may get only 8-10 seats. The BJP and Congress are likely to win 1-2 and 3-5 seats, respectively. According to India Today-Axis India Exit Poll, DMK is expected to win 52% vote share in Tamil Nadu, followed by AIADMK at 35% and Others may receive 13%. The exit poll predicts that DMK may win on 34-38 seats while AIADMK may win on the 0-4 seats. Congress has an alliance with DMK in Tamil Nadu, while AIADMK is BJP's ally in the southern state.
On an average, AIADMK is expected to win on 11 seats, while Congress' ally DMK may take away 26 seats and Others may get one seat in the state according to exit polls. News 24's Todays Chanakya has predicted an average of 31 seats for DMK while AIADMK may win on 6-4 seats in the state and Others may get one seat.
According to NewsX-Neta, BJP-AIADMK alliance is expected to bag 11 seats while Congress-DMK may win 27 seats. As per IANS-CVOTER exit poll, AIADMK is expected to gain 10 seats while DMK may win 22 seats. Times Now-VMR exit poll has predicted that the AIADMK alliance will get just 9 seats while DMK is projected to win 29 seats. As per Republic-Jan Ki Baat, AIADMK will bag 9-13 seats, DMK may bag 15-29 seats.

The Dhinakaran-led AMMK, Naam Thamilar Katchi, and actor-turned-politician Kamal Hassan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) are also in the fray.
While DMK is contesting on 20 seats, the Congress has fielded candidates on nine seats, the AIADMK-BJP alliance is fighting elections from five seats and PMK from seven seats. The key constituencies in Tamil Nadu include Sivaganga, Chennai South, Chennai North, Chennai Central, Chidambaram(SC), Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Kanyakumari, Karur, Thoothukudi, Nilgiris(SC), Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Vellore and Arani.
In 2014 elections, Tamil Nadu saw an unprecedented landslide for AIADMK which won 37 seats out of 39 seats in the state. Meanwhile, BJP just got one seat in Kanniyakumari and PMK won the Dharmapuri seat.
Puducherry constituency
The exit poll results of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 for the single seat from Puducherry constituency have been announced. The election for the lone Lok Sabha seat was on April 18, 2019, during the second phase of the polling in the seven-phased voting. A total voter turnout of 78 per cent was recorded in Puducherry. All India NR Congress has nominated Dr Narayanasamy Kesavan while Indian National Congress (INC) has fielded V Vaithilingam this election. Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) AG Pathimaraj is also in the fray.
In the 16th Lok Sabha Polls, R Radhakrishnan from All India NR Congress (AINRC) had won the Puducherry seat with 2,55,286 votes. The AINRC candidate defeated V Narayanasamy from Indian National Congress(INC) by a margin of 60,854 votes. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Communist Party of India (CPI) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also competed for this seat in the previous election.

Voting for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections for all the 543 seats was held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19, 2019. The counting of votes for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will take place on May 23. The General Election results would be declared on the same day.
