According to the overall predictions, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to win 9 seats out 14, Congress 4 and others 1 in the northeastern state. The exit poll conducted by News24 Today's Chanakya, speculates BJP's win bagging over 10 to 13 seats in Assam, Congress 3 and Others 1, out of 14 Lok Sabha Constituencies. Again, India Today predicts BJP to win 12-14 seats in the northeastern state, while congress could secure 2 seats, AIUDF and others to get none. Republic-C voter survey anticipates, BJP to win seven seats, Congress may win five and others may get one of the 14 parliamentary constituencies in Assam.

Voting in Assam was held in three phases that began on April 11 for the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies. The National Register of Citizens (NTC) and the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, dominated the campaigning in the state. Amidst all the chaos and protest, Assam recorded a total voter turnout on the higher side- at almost X percent.
Assam has a total of 14 Lok Sabha seats. In the first phase, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kaliabor, Lakhimpur and Tezpur parliamentary constituencies went for a poll on April 11. At the time of ending of polls on the first phase. The total voters’ turnout as reported was 68%. This followed by the second phase of Lok Sabha elections that were held for five parliamentary constituencies namely, Karimganj, Silchar, Autonomous District, Mangaldoi and Nowgong. The total voter turnout for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections is 73.32%. Finally, the polling for the remaining four constituencies namely Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Gauhati held on Phase 3 of Lok Sabha Elections that recorded a voters’ turnout of 85%.
The key political parties in Assam are Assam are Indian National Congress (INC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Asom Gana Parishad, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and others. The third and final phase of polling in Assam saw a tremendous response, revealing the current situation that the state is facing. At the end of the third phase, the voters’ turnout surpassed the previous high of 80.13% recorded in 2014. The final push that came in the four constituencies having the highest concentration of immigrant Muslim voters.
