New Delhi, May 12: News channel India Today, in coordination with research agency Karvi, is releasing the exit poll predicts for the Karnataka assembly elections 2018. The live streaming of the post-poll survey results could be viewed on the embedded link of India Today, along with its Hindi arm, Aaj Tak. The exit poll comes barely three days before the Election Commission will declare the official results of the elections conducted today.

Voting was held in 222 of the 224 constituencies of Karnataka earlier today. The EC had earmarked 56,696 polling booths across the state. Voting in two seats - Jayanagar and RR Nagar - were deferred due to the death of BJP candidate BN Vijayakumar in the former, and the seizure of over 9,000 fake voter ID cards in the latter. The polls have been rescheduled on May 28.

The exit poll predictions reflect the outcome of the election results which will be declared by the EC after the counting of votes. Although exit polls are not completely accurate, they end up signalling which way the electorate swung at the ballot.
