Eid 2018: Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Promises Direct Flights for Haj, Residential Schools For Muslims

The Chief Minister, speaking on the occasion, made an announcement saying that facility for direct flight would be arranged from Gannavaram airport for Haj pilgrims next year. He also added that the facility of residential schools would be made available to Muslims in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made an important announcement today after he attended and participated in the Eid prayers at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium in Vijayawada. The Chief Minister, speaking on the occasion, made an announcement saying that facility for direct flight would be arranged from Gannavaram airport for Haj pilgrims next year. He also added that the facility of residential schools would be made available to Muslims in Andhra Pradesh.

A number of Muslim community leaders were present on the spot at the time of announcement. Collector B. Lakshmikantham, Major Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao were other leaders present at the event, reported the English daily The Hindu. 

Special prayers were performed at Chitti Nagar masjid, at the Haj building by huge Muslim crowds. Gymkhana grounds and  Ramalingeswar Nagar Katta masjid in Vijayawada were other places were prayers were offered by Muslims in large numbers.
