Chandigarh, October 18: With just three days remaining for the Assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra, the Election Commission of India had announced the transfer Expenditure Observer (EO) of Ambala and Nashik. The ECI made this decision after reviewing the performance of Observers during the ongoing Haryana elections and informed that the Expenditure Observer for Ambala and Nashik removed for not supervising enforcement activities in right earnest.
According to the press release of the Election Commission, Ritesh Parmar (IRS) has been appointed as the new Expenditure Observer (EO) of Ambala with immediate effect and has assumed the office. Stating more on the transfer of EO, ECI spokesperson said that his overall performance was not found satisfactory. Apart from Ambala, Police Observer of Nashik and one RO of Nashik district was replaced by the Election Commission ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019. The ECI informed that the decision was taken after teh poll body found that the officers were not performing the task of observation satisfactorily. The new officers will join today. It is to be known that the voting for both Haryana and Maharashtra Assembly elections would take place on Monday and results would take place on Thursday.
