Kolkata, May 12: The Election Commission on Sunday ordered an FIR against Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Bharati Ghosh on reports of the poll violation. The apex poll conducting body took action against the leader for entering a polling station with security personnel, reports Times Now.

Taking cognisance of the report where Ghosh was seen entering the polling station with security personnel, EC issued the order to register an FIR against the BJP's Ghatal candidate. Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Phase 6: Bharati Ghosh, BJP Candidate From West Bengal's Ghatal, Breaks Down After Being Heckled at Polling Booth.

Earlier in the day, the former IPS officer-turned politician broke down during the sixth phase polls after she was heckled at a polling booth. Reports state that she was pushed by a group of women voters at the voting station in Ghatal seat and due to this, the ex-police officer was seen in tears.

The alleged torture didn't end here for Ghosh. She was subjected to another attack from alleged Trinamool Congress voters and her convoy was pelted with stones and bricks. In the attack, she sustained minor injuries too.

With things blowing out of proportion, a BJP delegation - led by MA Naqvi -met EC. After the meeting, Naqvi said, "Have demanded that outsiders be not allowed in LS constituencies, 48 hours before the elections, & that history-sheeters be arrested. Our candidate Bharati Ghosh's car was stopped, have demanded action against the officers involved."
