EC Issues Notice Against Himachal Pradesh BJP Chief Satpal Singh Satti For 'Chopping Hands' Remarks

Election Commission on Thursday issued a notice to Himachal Pradesh BJP Chief Satpal Singh Satti for violating the model code of conduct and 'Chopping Hands' remarks.

Mandi, April 25: A day after Bharatiya Janata Party chief for Himachal Pradesh Satpal Singh Satti made controversial comments while addressing an electoral rally in Mandi, Election Commission on Thursday issued a notice to him for violating the model code of conduct. Satti had sad that he 'will chop off hands of those who point fingers at Modi (Narendra Modi) Ji.'

Satti while addressing a political rally in Mandi, in presence of party chief Amit Shah had said, "If anyone raises a finger at PM Modi, we will cut off their arm and put it in their arm." With the comment, he has not only violated the Model Code of Conduct, but had also steep to a new low of politics.  EC Imposes 48-Hour Campaigning Ban on Himachal Pradesh BJP Chief Satpal Satti For 'Obscene Slur' Against Rahul Gandhi. 

This is not the first time that Satti had been served with notices and restrictions. Earlier, too Satti has been barred from campaigning for using an "obscene slur" against Congress president Rahul Gandhi. As per the EC order, Sati has been barred from addressing political rallies, press conferences or giving an interview to reporters for 48 hours beginning from Saturday 6 am on April 19. The action has been taken by the polling body after finding him violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

Satti was barred on Monday by the EC after Congress made a complaint stating that the BJP leader allegedly using the "m*********od" slur against Rahul Gandhi. Congress had also lodged a police complaint against the BJP leader, urging Shimla Police to register a case against him.
