Sinha's remarks were apparently aimed at Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he blamed the two members at helm of the BJP for the polarised atmosphere across the nation. Describing the duo as "duryodhan" and "dushasan", the 82-year-old said they are the 'most dangerous' tukde-tukde gang.
New Delhi, December 28: Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha, who has emerged as one of the leading critics of the Centre's CAA-NRC project, struck back at Home Minister Amit Shah for his "tukde-tukde gang" remarks. A day after Shah, while addressing a public gathering in Delhi, blamed the so-called tukde tukde gang and "urban naxals" for the violent CAA protests, Sinha said the forces which pose the maximum danger to the unity of India are present in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Sinha, who headed the Finance Ministry during Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led government at the Centre, emerged a critic of the Narendra Modi-led dispensation after he was sidelined by the party in 2014. He had quit the BJP in 2018, announcing his retirement from electoral politics. Sinha, however, continued to remain active in public life and opposed the economic and domestic policies of the Modi government.
