Chennai, September 16: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will be protesting in all districts of Tamil Nadu on Friday against the alleged intent of the Centre to impose Hindi in the state. DMK chief MK Stalin, addressing the press today, said his party would go to any extent to keep the Tamil pride intact. "DMK to protest in all Tamil Nadu district capitals on September 20 at 10 am against central government's decision on imposition of Hindi language. The decision was taken at the party's high level committee meeting," Stalin said.

Reacting to his remark, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said Shah has issued a "war cry". He said the Communist Party of India (Marxist) will leave no stone unturned to prevent the Centre from imposing Hindi in any non-Hindi speaking state.
Chief Minister of the BJP-ruled Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa, also issued a statement marking his difference from the "one nation, one language" proposal of Shah.
"All official languages in our country are equal. However, as far as Karnataka is concerned, Kannada is the principal language. We will never compromise its importance and are committed to promote Kannada and our state's culture," Yediyurappa said.
