Bengaluru, September 4: Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday sent Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar to Enforcement Directorate remand till September 13. Earlier, the Court reserved the order on remand application of Enforcement Directorate in Congress leader DK Shivakumar matter. The Enforcement Directorate in special court had asked for 14-days judicial custody of DK Shivakumar and sought a week time for replying to his bail application. While his advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi moved a bail application, which it was being heard in the court.

Stating the reason for 14-days judicial custody of DK Shivakumar, ED had had said that the Congress leader gave evasive replies, remained non- cooperative during the investigation. The probing agency also alleged that Shivakumar that there is the reason to believe the accused is guilty and want custodial interrogation to confront him with the documents. Following the arrest of Shivakumar, his followers raised slogans against the Narendra Modi government and the probe agency. They were then welded with lathis and chased away. Not only in Bengaluru, but protests were also observed in various parts of the country including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Ramnagara, and Delhi, against the arrest of Shivakumar.
