Digvijaya Singh Hits Out at BJP Over Keshav Prasad Maurya Calling Pulwama Attack 'A Big Accident', Questions PM Narendra Modi

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh hit back at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over Keshav Prasad Maurya calling the February 14 Pulwama attack ‘a big accident’.

New Delhi, March 6: Congress leader Digvijaya Singh today hit back at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over Keshav Prasad Maurya calling the February 14 Pulwama attack "a big accident." Singh in tweet asked BJP whether any action would be taken against Maurya for his comments. Taking a dig at BJP, the senior Congress leader added that three union ministers termed him a Pakistan supporter for calling Pulwama Attack "an accident," but now what would PM Narendra Modi have to say on Maurya’s statement.

The senior Congressman has retweeted a video showing Keshav Prasad Maurya, an Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister, describing the terrorist attack as a "big accident".  BJP Alleges Digvijay Singh Has Links With Naxals; Arrest Me, Says Congress Leader.

Yesterday, Singh sparked a controversy when he referred to the Pulwama attack as a "durghatana" (accident), later reviewing it to "terror attack" after being trolled on social media. In a tweet, on Tuesday the senior Congress leader said the foreign media had raised doubts over the air strike after the Pulwama "accident" and this has raised questions over the credibility of the Indian government.

Keshav Prasad Maurya calling Pulwama Attack 'a big accident':

Responding to Singh’s statement, Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retd) Vijay Kumar Singh, “With due respect, I would like to ask Digvijaya Singh Ji, was Rajiv Gandhi's assassination an accident or a terror incident?” Meanwhile, HRD minister Prakash Javadekar also hit out at the Congress over Digvijaya’s comments. Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also slammed the senior Congress for his comments. Prasad said that Digvijaya should be ashamed of himself.
