Bhopal, December 11: The counting of votes for Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2018 is underway and the results are expected to be out by afternoon. We are bringing you updates on the results for six MP Vidhan Sabha constituencies - Dharampuri, Dhar, Badnawar, Depalpur, Dr Ambedkar Nagar Mhow, Rau. It looks like a close fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress as the exit polls have not been able to predict clearly as to which party will win the battle for MP. While some exit polls have given the BJP an upper hand, others have indicated at a Congress victory. Voting for the MP Assembly polls was held on November 28 in a single phase. Dharampuri (ST) Assembly Seat
The Dharampuri (ST) seat was won by Kalu Singh of the BJP in 2013. The party has this year fielded Gopal Kannoj against Panchilal Meda of the Congress. Meda had won the seat in the 2008 polls. Other candidates contesting on this seat this year include Punja Bundela of the BSP and Dr. Mohabbat Singh Waskel of AAP.
Dhar Assembly Seat
The Dhar seat has been a BJP stronghold since 2003. Neena Vikram Verma of the BJP won two elections back to back on this seat in 2008 and 2013. Verma has been fielded by the party this year as well against Prabha Balmukundsingh Goutam of the Congress and Abdul Salam of the BSP.
Badnawar Assembly Seat
The Badnawar seat was won by Bhanwarsingh Shekhawat of the BJP in 2013. The party has fielded Shekhawat this year as well, against two-time winner (2003 and 2008) from the Congress, Rajvardhan Singh. The BSP has fielded Samrath Kashyap Dharsikheda.
Depalpur Assembly Seat
The Depalpur seat has been won by Manoj Nirbhaysingh Patel of the BJP in 2003 and 2013. Patel has been fielded by the BJP this election as well, against Vishal Jagdish Patel of the Congress, Brajesh Kannoji of the BSP and Bahadur Singh of AAP.
Dr Ambedkar Nagar Mhow Assembly Seat
The Dr Ambedkar Nagar - Mhow seat has been won by Kailash Vijayvargiya of the BJP in 2008 as well as 2013. The party has this year fielded Usha Thakur against Antar Singh Darbar of Congress and Pradeep Chouhan of BSP.
Rau Assembly Seat
The Rau Seat was won by Jeetendra Patwari of the Congress in 2013. The party fielded Patwari this year as well, against Mahadev Verma of the BJP and Raju Yadav of the BSP.
