Mumbai, November 24: NCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at his residence, hours after Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar said no to an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party. As per ABP News sources, Ajit Pawar claimed that he has the support of 27 MLAs. The report further added that 12 MLAs of NCP has been promised ministerial berth in the Fadnavis-led Maharashtra government. Reportedly, the two leaders also discussed the Supreme Court judgement and a possible floor test on Monday. The Maharashtra CMO, however, informed that Pawar and Fadnavis discussed on various measures for additional support and assistance to unseasonal rain-affected farmers.

"There is no question of forming an alliance with @BJP4Maharashtra. NCP has unanimously decided to ally with @ShivSena & @INCMaharashtra to form the government. Shri Ajit Pawar's statement is false and misleading in order to create confusion and false perception among the people," the veteran leader's tweet read.

The 60-year-old Baramati MLA took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Minister on Saturday in a shock to the state politics. The move was denounced by NCP chief, who told media that Ajit misled the Governor, submitting wrong papers to indicate NCP's support.
"I am in the NCP and shall always be in the NCP and @PawarSpeaks Saheb is our leader. Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable Government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the State and its people," Ajit Pawar's tweet read.
The pre-poll alliance Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena won 105 and 56 seats respectively in the last elections. The Sena, however, broke its alliance with the saffron party after it declined to share equal cabined portfolios and 50:50 formula for chief Minister's post.
