The biggest reason for Nitish Kumar's party to contest Delhi polls is the massive number of Purvanchali and Bihar migrants residing in Delhi. Meanwhile, it is not yet clear, how many seats JD(U) will contest. According to reports, the party is planning to contest at least 30-35 candidates of total 70 seats.

In 2015 Delhi Assembly Elections, Arvind Kejriwal's AAP won 67 seats, while BJP just managed three out of 70-member Delhi assembly. The AAP and BJP have also started their campaigns for the upcoming polls. The Congress, however, is still finding its new chief after the death of Sheila Dikshit.
