New Delhi, December 15: With the protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) turning violent in South Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal issued an appeal to all residents and aggrieved sections to maintain peace. The Opposition - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP - lashed out at Kejriwal, claiming that elements associated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had stoked the violence. BJP leaders in Delhi blamed AAP legislator Amanatullah Khan for the violence, alleging that the Okhla MLA had issued a speech earlier today which instigated the gathering. The party has appealed the Delhi Police to initiate penal action against those involved in the arson, along with Khan and other politicians who allegedly incited the mob. "Does Kejriwal want to repeat Godhra case in Delhi? His goon Amanatullah Khan brought the mob. Buses are being set ablaze in Jamia area, cars are being vandalised and stones have been pelted on the police force," said former MLA and BJP leader Kapil Mishra.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari also blamed the AAP for stoking violence in the region, claiming that Kejriwal's party men had instigated the protesters. "People of Delhi will teach a befitting lesson to the AAP in the coming elections," he said.
