New Delhi, June 19: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on a ninth day called- off the dharna which was held at Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal residence from June 11. In the latest development, LG urged Arvind Kejriwal to 'urgently meet' IAS officers at the Delhi Secretariat after which the decision has been taken. The national capital was under political turbulence from the last few-day after the CM and his Cabinet colleagues launched a sit-in protest at the L-G's residence. However, with IAS officers have shown interest that they are ready for talks with Kejriwal. In a prompt reply, Kejriwal also ensured the bureaucrats them their safety and dignity will be ensured.

In one of his tweets, Kejriwal said, "I wish to assure them that I will ensure their safety and security with all my powers and resources available at my command. I have given similar assurances earlier also to many officers who have been meeting me privately. I reiterate it."

Kejriwal began an indefinite strike and his two other ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain went on hunger strike at L-G office to press their demands. Reportedly he held the protest to stop the alleged IAS officers strike along with the demand to provide ration cards to poor people of Delhi state door to door. AAP also wrote letters to PM Narendra Modi to intervene and vowed to continue the strike if their demands are not fulfilled.

Amid the ban, BJP MLA also filed a petition in Delhi High Court (HC) to bring an order to end Kejriwal's strike. The court in the hearing on Monday slammed Delhi CM for holding a dharna, however, the minister continued his protest at L-G office.
