Darbhanga is one of the key Lok Sabha constituencies of Rajasthan. The voting for the parliamentary polls 2019 on this seat will take place in the fourth phase on April 29.
The Lok Sabha election results of Darbhanga, featuring the candidature of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) veteran Abdul Bari Siddiqui, has been declared by the Election Commission of India. Darbhanga, constituency no.14, was among the 5 parliamentary segments in Bihar, which were contested in phase-4. The seat recorded a turnout of 61 per cent.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partner Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Gopal ji Thakur from Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has given a ticket to Abdul Bari Siddique from here. The last date of filing nominations for the seat was April 9. In 2014 elections, BJP candidate Kirti Azad had won from Darbhanga Lok Sabha Constituency defeating RJD candidate Md Ali Asraf Fatmi with a margin of over 30,000 votes. In 2009 also, Azad had won the seat. However, just before the 2019 general elections, Azad joined the Congress.

On March 10, the Election Commission of India announced dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The elections will take place in seven phases, and the results will be declared on May 23. The polls will be held in 1,035,918 polling stations across the country compared to 928,000 set up during the last Lok Sabha election in 2014.
