Daman and Diu, April 23: Daman and Diu is a union territory, located in western India. Spanning over an area of 112 square kilometres, it comprises of two distinct regions with the Gulf of Khambhat in between them, Daman and Diu joined the Indian union in 1961. Daman and Diu is the second smallest UT of India and is represented by one parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha. According to the Election Commission of India, the union territory registered a voters’ turnout of 71.83%, a slight dip from 2014, which recorded 77.84% voter turnout.
