Mangaluru, April 27: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday released the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Polls which are scheduled on May 12. Addressing a rally in Mangaluru, Gandhi took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress president said that the document contained ‘Mann ki Baat’ of the people of the state.

Launching a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he said The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) would decide its manifesto. Gandhi during the rally also assured the people of Karnataka to fulfil all the promises mentioned in the manifesto. He also said that the Congress manifesto is not made by 3-4 people in a closed room, rather it is made by travelling every single district of the state and understanding the needs of the people.

While releasing the manifesto The Congress chief said, “Five years ago, the government of Karnataka promised you something and we delivered on it. What we say in our manifesto is going to be done. In our last manifesto, 95 percent of the work has been done."

As the elections are coming closer, the political atmosphere is heating up. The assembly polls are going to be held on May 12, and the counting will take place on May 15. The Congress is contesting the elections under the leadership of Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah, while the BJP has made former Karnataka CM B S Yeddyurappa its chief ministerial candidate.
