New Delhi, October 30: Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress on Monday launched a dedicated website and a WhatsApp number seeking suggestions from the common man to prepare the party's manifesto for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The website has been designed under the theme 'Jan Aawaz', which means 'people's voice'.
The manifesto website www.manifesto.inc.in., was launched in New Delhi by senior party leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram. "We hope that millions of people participate in the manifesto consultations," Chidambaram said. With an aim to reach out to more potential voters during the party’s 2019 Lok Sabha campaign, the website has the option for 16 languages and also a dedicated WhatsApp number to receive suggestions. During his address, Chidambaram informed that the Congress has started work to write it's manifesto for the 2019 elections and a 22 member committee has been constituted to make it. While political parties are gearing up for the upcoming polls, Congress, on its part, is inviting people to give their suggestions for its election manifesto. While launching the website, Chidambaram said there are more than 20 subjects that would be taken care of including agriculture, economy, industry and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). "The process of consultation started on October 1 and till date, over 30 consultations have taken place for the preparation of the manifesto and about 150-160 more till December end", he added.
