Bengaluru, July 23: Rebel Congress and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) MLAs staying in Mumbai's luxury hotel will reportedly return to Bengaluru after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit chief BS Yeddyurappa’s swearing-in ceremony as the chief minister of Karnataka. On Tuesday, the coalition government in Karnataka lost the trust vote during the floor test in the Vidhana Soudha. The BJP received 105 votes, while the Congress-JDS alliance got only 99 votes. "I take this opportunity to extend grateful thanks for the cooperation given to me and my colleagues during the tenure," the resignation letter said. Speaking to reporters after the trust vote, Yeddyurappa said, "It is victory of democracy. People were fed up with Kumaraswamy government. I want to assure people of Karnataka that a new era of development will start now." The BJP in a tweet called it the victory of people of Karnataka. The saffron party hitting out at the Congress-JDS alliance said that an era of the corrupt and unholy alliance has ended.
