Congress Conspired to Break Kashmir Away from India Through Article 370, Says JP Nadda
BJP working president JP Nadda accused Congress of being a party for conspiracy to break Jammu and Kashmir away from India through Article 370. He asked party leaders in Maharashtra to make voters understand the importance of abrogating Article 370.
Mumbai, September 18: Bharatiya Janata Party working president JP Nadda on Wednesday accused Congress of being a party for conspiracy to break Jammu and Kashmir away from India through Article 370. Nadda also asked the party leaders in Maharashtra to make voters understand the importance of Narendra Modi government's decision to abrogate Article 370 from the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the party workers at a programme in Mumbai -- ahead of Assembly polls' announcements -- Nadda said, as quoted by Indian Express, "Like the Indian Constitution, the J&K Constitution had no provisions for socialism, secularism and integrity (akhandata). This was a conspiracy to break it (Kashmir) away from India, and the Congress leaders were a party to it." Jammu and Kashmir Has Legislative Powers, Gujjars and Bakarwals Will Have Seats Reserved in Valley, Says BJP Working President JP Nadda.
Apart from this, he raised questions on Congress' selective bias on the tribal community in Jammu and Kashmir -- Gujjar and Bakarwal. He said, "Congress always posed as sympathisers of tribals. So why did they deprive the two communities of representation."
Adding on, he said, "The Walmiki community was brought to Kashmir from outside to do sanitation work but they were never given permanent residence certificate. That showed how Congress also didn’t care for Dalits." Among other issues, Nadda mentioned the landmark decisions taken by the Union government like triple talaq and UAPA. He asked the party workers to reach out to the voters with the benefits of the scheme, that were launched by the Central government.
