Congress' Caste-Based Posters Out in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi Promoted as 'Brahmin'
Mentioning the caste of their leaders on the posters, the Congress leaders are labelled as being from Brahmin, Dalits, Bhumihar, and Rajputs community.
In one of the posters put up by Congress party in Bihar's capital Patna, Congress leaders feature in the poster along with party president Rahul Gandhi and each leader has name of a caste written on them to show which samudayay (caste) they belong to. The poster shows Rahul Gandhi sitting right in the middle of the poster and the word Brahmin Samudayay as caption below his name to indicate that he belongs to Brahmin community.
Mentioning the caste of their leaders on the posters, the Congress leaders are labelled as being from Brahmin, Dalits, Bhumihar, and Rajputs community. According to media reports, most of the leaders shown in the poster, are newly appointed faces in Bihar Congress.
Earlier on September 26, The Supreme Court's verdict on Aadhaar was welcomed by the ruling BJP and the prime Opposition Congress. Congress president Rahul Gandhi, while reacting to the judgement, said the top court bench has preserved the vision of Aadhaar which the erstwhile UPA government had intended to implement. The Gandhi scion said the court's ruling has barred the government from using the Aadhaar project for surveillance purpose. Instead, the bench has validated the Congress' approach towards Aadhaar, intended towards empowerment of the masses, he said.
