New Delhi, October 3: A day before the filing of nomination for the upcoming Haryana assembly elections 2019 concludes, the Congress has declared its first list of candidates. The list, released to the media in the wee hours of Thursday, names a total of 84 candidates, including former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Among other major leaders named by the party include the Congress' communication wing in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala. Kumari Selja New Haryana Congress President, Bhupinder Singh Hooda Appointed as CLP Leader.

With the release of this list, the Congress is now left to take the final call on the candidates for the remaining six seats. The final list is expected to be released by today as Friday is the last date for the filing of nominations. The candidatures would be scrutinized by the Election Commission on October 7.

Congress 1st List of Candidates For Haryana Assembly Elections 2019

Polls across the 90 constituencies of Haryana will be held in a single-phase on October 21. The final results are expected by October 24, when the polling body has scheduled the counting of votes.

In Haryana, the electoral battle is primarily stated to be a three-way contest between the ruling BJP, the Congress and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). In 2014, the BJP scripted its first-ever assembly poll victory in the state, winning 47 out of the 90 seats.
