New Delhi, January 18: The Congress party on Saturday released a list of 54 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The list by Congress names Alka Lamba contesting from Chandni Chowk seat, Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhi Nagar. Adarsh Shastri, who switched from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to Congress after he was denied a ticket, will contest from Dwarka. This is the first list released by Congress for the assembly elections. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP have already released list of candidates for the assembly elections. The Election Commission of India (ECI) on January 6 announced the date for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2020. With the announcement of the poll date, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), also known as Aachar Sanhita come into effect immediately. The polling in Delhi for the assembly election will take place on February 8 (single phase) and the counting of votes will take place on February 11.
