Churu is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies of Rajasthan. The voting for the parliamentary polls 2019 on this seat will take place in the Fifth phase on May 6. Currently, it comprises eight assembly seats  - Sadulpur, Taranagar, Sardarshahar, Churu, Ratangarh, Sujangarh, Nohar and Bhadra. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Balwan Poonia from Churu Lok Sabha Constituency, while the Congress has given the ticket to Rafique Mandelia. The last date of filing nominations for the seat was April 18. The scrutiny of nomination papers took place on April `20. Meanwhile, the last date of withdrawal of candidature was April 22. In 2014 elections also, BJP candidate Rahul Kaswan had won from Churu Lok Sabha Constituency defeating BSP candidate Abhinesh Maharshi with a margin of close to three lakh votes. In 2009 elections, Ram Singh Kaswan had also won the seat on the BJP ticket.

The Election Commission of India on March 10 announced the dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The general elections will take place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, and the results will be declared on May 23. Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place in this phase for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha Assembly Elections 2019.
