Chiranjeevi Advises Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan to Stay Away From Politics, Says 'It Is Only About Money'
Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, who is touring South India to promote his film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, advised Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. He advised them to not to enter politics. He also stressed on the fact that politics is all about money. He made this comment during an interview to a Tamil magazine Ananda Vikatan.
Chennai, September 26: Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, who is touring South India to promote his film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, has a piece of advice for Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. He urged them to not enter politics. He also stressed on the fact that politics is all about money. He made this comment during an interview to a Tamil magazine Ananda Vikatan. “When I entered politics I was the number one superstar and I left everything. I joined politics but I was defeated in my own constituency as my rival spent crores of money to defeat me. Same happened to Pawan Kalyan as well,” said Chiranjeevi.
He also revealed that he thought Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) would win the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. However, it didn't happen. "For people who are very sensitive, politics is not their cup of tea. I hope that Kamal and Rajinikanth are not like me but, my advice to both of them would be - Don't enter politics," he said.
He further said that if you can handle defeats and setbacks then you can enter politics. "Maybe things will change one day for you," Chiranjeevi said. Meanwhile, MNM contested 37 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, megastar Rajinikanth is yet to float his party.
Chiranjeevi In Politics
In 2018, Chiranjeevi had set up a political party called Praja Rajayam. In 2019 Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, his party won 18 seats. He contested from Tirupathi seat and won it. Chiranjeevi also served as the Union Tourism Minister from 2012 till 2014. Later, however, his party merged with the Indian National Congress and flopped in 2014 elections. Mana Voori Pandavulu actor then was elected to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament, where he served till 2018. After that, he maintained a distance from politics.
