The counting of votes began on the Chilika, Ranpur and Khandapada Assembly constituencies in Odisha at 8 am on Thursday, May 23. BJD won in all the Chilika, Ranpur, and Khandapada Assembly seats.
Voting took place for the Chilika, Ranpur and Khandapada seats in the third phase of Assembly Elections 2019. A total voter turnout of 61 per cent was recorded, as per Election Commission of India. According to the Election Commission’s briefings, the process of filing nomination for the Third Phase of Assembly elections in Odisha began on March 28, which continued till April 4. The scrutiny would be done on April 5, and the last date for the withdrawal of the nominations was April 8. The polling will take place on April 23. In 2014 Odisha Assembly polls, BJD bagged 117 seats, While Congress could manage only 16 seats. Meanwhile, BJP secured 10 seats, and CPI (M) Samata Kranti Dal and an individual won one seats each. Odisha Assembly elections will take place in four phases, starting from April 11 to April 29. The results would be declared on May 23, along with the Lok Sabha Elections results.
