Nadda has appointed Hooghly MP Locket Chatterjee as the head of the committee and asked the team to submit a report within three days of the visit.
According to the details, the fact finding committee of the BJP will be lead by Locket Chatterjee, along with other members including Jaskaur Meena, Kanta Kardam and Bharati Pawar. Nadda had instructed that the committee to take a stock of the situation where over 70 infants reportedly died in state-run hospital in December alone. Children Death in Rajasthan: CM Ashok Gehlot Orders Probe, Says Govt Working to Ensure Decline in Child Mortality Rate.
Earlier, CM Gehlot assured the people that his government would focus on decreasing the mortality rate among children in the state. However, he had stated that the death of children in Rajasthan had declined in comparison to last six years. He had said, "I’ve ordered an investigation. We will focus on the declining mortality rates among children in the state."
It is to be known that following the reports of infants dying in Kota, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged the Gehlot government in state to act 'sensitively' on the issue. Earlier on Friday, officials confirmed that two infants died on Friday itself. Gehlot, in the meanwhile, had asked the Health Secretary Vaibhav Galriya to take stock of the situation and report to him soon so that appropriate action can be taken.
