Bilaspur, May 22: The counting of votes for all the eleven Lok Sabha seats of Chhattisgarh began at 8 AM on Wednesday, May 23. The polls in the state for 11 seat was held on April 22, 18 and 23. The main electoral contest is between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress (IMC). Catch live updates on Lok Sabha election results of Chhattisgarh and list of winners here.

On April 11, the parliamentary constituency of Bastar contested. In round two, on April 18, the Lok Sabha seats of Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker voted. On April 23, voting was held in Surguja, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg, and Raipur parliamentary segments.

Nearly, 66 per cent overall voter turnout was recorded in Chhattisgarh parliamentary constituencies at the time of ending of polls on April 23. The key constituencies in the state are Rajnandgaon, Bastar, Raigarh and Bilaspur.

High-stake electioneering was witnessed in the state, with Chief Minister and INC leader Bhupesh Baghel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and Congress supremo Rahul Gandhi addressing several public meetings to reach out to the electorate.

Notably, in last three Lok Sabha elections in the state, Bharatiya Janata party had won 10 seats while the Indian National Congress has only managed to secure one seat respectively. In 2018 Vidhan Sabha elections Congress secured 68 seats, while BJP just secured 15 assembly seats.
