Chandrayaan 2: Rahul Gandhi, Amit Shah And Other Political Leaders Unite in Lauding ISRO, Boosting Scientists' Morale After Communication Lost With Vikram Lander Just 2.1 km From Moon's Surface; Read Tweets

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday lost contact with Chandrayaan 2 when the spacecraft wasjust 2.1 km away from the lunar surface. Scientists are still analysing the data before coming to any conclusion.

Bengaluru, September 7: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday lost contact with Chandrayaan 2 when the spacecraft was just 2.1 km away from the lunar surface. Scientists are still analysing the data before coming to any conclusion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was present at the ISRO's centre in Bengaluru, encouraged the scientists who were part of India's second lunar mission. He said that reaching close to the moon was also not a small image. He also tweeted in which he praised the ISRO scientists. Besides PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and other top politicians of the country also boosted the morale of the scientists.

Shah in a tweetd said that ISRO has made India proud. He tweeted, "ISRO’s achievement with getting Chandrayaan-2 so far has made every Indian proud. India stands with our committed and hard working scientists at @isro. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the ISRO will definitely succeed in its endevours. She tweeted, "We are with you @isro . You have brought the nation, it’s young minds and all, together in sensing your achievements in Space. You will succeed."

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi congratulated the space agency for its increible ork on the Chandrayaan 2 mission. He tweeted, "Congratulations to the team at #ISRO for their incredible work on the Chandrayaan 2 Moon Mission. Your passion & dedication is an inspiration to every Indian. Your work is not in vain. It has laid the foundation for many more path breaking & ambitious Indian space missions."

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also encouraged the scientists of the ISRO and said that they should not lose hope. Kejriwal tweeted, "We are proud of our scientists. They have created history. Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, also  encpuraged the scientists after the spacecraft lost contact. He tweeted, "The communication isn’t lost. Every single person in India can feel the heartbeat of #chandrayaan2 We can hear it whisper to us that ‘If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.’"

The spacecraft lost contact from ISRO's control at Bengaluru at 1:55 am. PM Modi was at the ISRO centre in Bengaluru to witness the historic moment. The spacecraft entered lunar orbit on August 20. The second lunar orbit manoeuvre was carried out on August 21. The space agency carried out a total of five orbital manoeuvres.
