Chandrakant Bacchu Patil Appointed As Maharashtra BJP President, Succeeds Raosaheb Danve; Mangal Prabhat Lodha Is Party's Mumbai Chief

BJP Maharashtra President Raosaheb Patil Danve on Tuesday, July 16, resigned from his position. Chandrakant Patil has been appointed as Maharashtra BJP Chief. The saffron party has also appointed Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the founder of Lodha Group, as the Mumbai BJP president.

Mumbai, July 16: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra President Raosaheb Patil Danve on Tuesday, July 16, resigned from his position. Chandrakant Patil has been appointed as Maharashtra BJP Chief. Danve was re-elected from Maharashtra's Jalana for the fifth consecutive time in the recently held 2019 general elections. The saffron party has also appointed Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the founder of Lodha Group, as the Mumbai BJP president. He is currently the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Malabar Hill constituency of south Mumbai. This development comes after Dhanve was inducted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet as Minister of Consumer Affairs, food and public distribution. The newly appointed Maharashtra chief is currently serving as the revenue minister in Fadnavis cabinet.
