N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh has indicated that he may not only quit NDA but also support his rival from the state, Jaganmohan Reddy's no-trust motion against the Centre.
Amaravati, March 15: After alleging earlier in the day that the Bhartiya Janata Party was hatching a conspiracy against the Telugu Desam Party, N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh has indicated that he may not only quit NDA but also support his rival from the state, Jaganmohan Reddy's no-trust motion against the Centre. Chandrababu Naidu, also said that there is a strong anti- BJP and anti- Modi wave across country, indicating that he may part ways with the NDA government.
According to a report in NDTV, the leaders of CM Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will meet on Friday (tomorrow) and announce the party's parting from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also said that they were part of the NDA government during former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's stint and that the former PM used to take their suggestion.
Chandrababu Naidu went to the extent of saying that he would support a no-confidence motion against the government irrespective of who places it in the house.
Only last week, the TDP led by Naidu had pulled its two ministers from the central government but restrained itself from walking out of the NDA government. But the developments since indicate that the TDP may cut ties from the NDA government any moment. He is reported to have said that the BJP was using both Jagan Reddy and Jana Sena boss Pawan Kalyan and trying not to give the state of Andhra Pradesh its due.
The political air in Andhra Pradesh has been tense over the past few weeks on the issue of granting special status category (SSC) to the state. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had said that it won't be possible to give Andhra the special status and this had created a stir among the parties in Andhra Pradesh. YSR Congress Chief Jaganmohan Reddy, Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu have all lashed out against the Centre for not willing to give the special status category to Andhra Pradesh.
