Amravati, May 23: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday submitted his resignation to the Governor as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after his party's defeat in assembly elections. This comes after the YSR Congress Party decimates the ruling TDP in Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy's party is leading in 134 of the 175 seats at the time of publishing. Reddy is all set to become the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. While it is not known when the YSRCP leader's swearing-in will take place, the Legislative Party meeting of the party leaders is set to take place on May 25. Andhra Pradesh Election Results 2019.

TDP is currently leading in 22 seats, while actor Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party is leading in only 1 seat. Naidu’s son and minister for Information Technology Nara Lokesh is trailing in Mangalagiri constituency while YSRCP’s Rama Krishna Reddy leading the race.

Not only in Assembly elections, but YSR Congress Party is also leading in Lok Sabha Polls, it currently leads in 22 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats. Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party is facing a massive loss. While the actor is leading in the Gajuwaka constituency, he is losing in Bhimavaram.

The elections in the state took place in a single phase on April 11 and a total of 2118 candidates took part in elections for the 175-member Assembly while a total of 319 candidates were in the fray for 25 Lok Sabha seats
